Anne Davies - Free Webinar April 3, 10:00am
The last week has been filled with incredible conversations and virtual meetings with leaders and teachers across North America. Some of the most frequent phrases we heard included, “leading in these times,” “navigating uncharted waters,” and “working together in unprecedented ways.” These words provide evidence of the resilience and dedication of educators.
In our discussions, we also both recognize and celebrate the spirit of educators as they find ways to deliver food to students who require it, create a learning community in an online environment, and enact “telephone trees” to check in with not only one another, but parents and community members, as well. These examples illustrate the indelible strength of educators’ commitment to their students. And though there is great uncertainty about educating through a pandemic, what we know about quality assessment, instruction, and evaluation is now, more than ever, important to draw upon in online platforms. For example, sharing samples, engaging in feedback loops, and setting realistic goals will continue to be necessary for student learning.
It is true that time frames and timelines remain unclear. As a result, there continues to be a need to support leaders and teachers, so that they can work with confidence.
We are here for you during this unsettling time; you are not alone in what needs to be done. In support, we have prepared a series of free webinars that will respond to the questions we are hearing from teachers just like you. Click this link and join us! Click the link to acess the webinar.
Another trend in our discussions with you last week was how you recognize that your teams will be working together in unprecedented ways. We are reminded of Margaret Mead’s call to action, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have.”
It won’t be business as usual, but you can rely on the team at connect2learning to serve you in ways that best suit your circumstance. You can trust us to walk alongside you...learning every step of the way.
All our best wishes,
Anne, Sandra, Brenda and the connect2learning team
