Towards Healthy Outcomes (THO), a framework for intervention with individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
On January 10th from 6:30 to 8 pm Jacqueline Pei will discuss Towards Healthy Outcomes (THO), a framework for intervention with individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
Jacqueline will review the assumptions central to this model, and the rationale for adopting a ‘healthy development’ lens as we support individuals with FASD. From this perspective, challenges present for individuals will be examined across developmental domains with consideration for potential opportunities to support healthy outcomes for people with FASD. Research and practical considerations will be incorporated in this discussion. We will consider gaps that currently exist and ways we can engage in thoughtful and purposeful actions that are responsive to the unique needs of individuals with FASD.
Jacqueline Pei is a Professor, in the Department of Educational Psychology
