Call for Presentations
Please submit the form on the right to apply to be a Presenter at a COTA Pro-D Conference (Summer, October and February).
Selection Criteria
Proposals will be reviewed by at least two reviewers who will use the rubric below to evaluate and select proposals. The following rubric will be used to evaluate all proposals in the refereed proposal review process:
- Do the title and description clearly describe the session?
- Is the proposed topic timely and/or appropriate?
- Will this session positively contribute to the conference and to the field of K to 12 education?
- Is the session designed to be interactive and engage the audience?

- Relevance to Research/Theory/Practice
Outside SD#23 Presenter Fees
If you charge a fee for speaking or giving a workshop please tell us the fee and some more details in the comment field in the application. We will be contacting you directly to confirm or to negotiate with you.
Acceptance
If your proposal is accepted, you will be asked to:
- Sign into Whova (our registration platform)
- Edit materials to be used in your session. Make copies to distribute to attendees.
- Add your slide decks, handouts and/or files, and other information to Whova (if applicable)
In Whova, you can manage your own profile and add presentation files, and connect with attendees through the app.
Accepted proposals will be emailed with a request to login to Whova.
A/V & Media
Note: For virtual presentations, speakers must be equipped with their own devices, equipment, and ability to present on-line via Zoom or another platform. Please check to be sure you have enough capacity for the number of attendees expected.
In person, the following standard audiovisual equipment will be provided in each room: data projector equipped with a universal VGA cable to accommodate PC and Macintosh (inform us if you need an adapter) platforms, an Internet connection, and a screen. Overhead projectors, Smartboards, computers and TV units will be made available upon request. (Note: Presenters should plan to provide their own computer equipment or other specialized equipment). Microphones will be supplied as needed in larger rooms.
The schedule is: 8:30-10 (Keynote); 10:30-12; 1-2:30 Please indicate if you would like one session time period (90 minutes), a half day (two sessions) or full day.
Application deadlines:
January 5th, 2024 for the February 16th Zonal Conference
May 24th, 2024 for the August 26th-28th Summer Conference 2024
September 14th, 2024 for the October 25th Provincial Pro-D Day
